Davidoff leads the way with our new contenders this week, as their Nicaragua Box Pressed is among the most anticipated cigar releases for 2016 thus far. But with only a few weeks on the market, it could take awhile before fans catch on and upvote Davidoff’s first box-pressed offering.

Our other additions include some fan-favorites, such as Camacho’s heavy-hitting Connecticut and the sought-after Headley Grange Drumstick LE 2013—which was Crowned Heads’ 2nd limited edition to hit the market, back in 2013.

With these additions, there are now over 23,000 battle combinations.

UPDATE: These cigars have now been ranked after their 1st week in the ring – see how they performed

Our contenders this week are as follows:

Camacho Connecticut

Camacho Connecticut cigarCamacho Connecticut is 1 of only 2 cigars to retain its original blend when the brand completely overhauled their look and feel in 2013. The cigar is blended to offer a more intense smoking experience than your average Connecticut—the fuller side of the mild spectrum.

HOYO

HOYO by Hoyo de MonterreyHoyo de Monterrey has updated their look for the modern era. The new HOYO features a spicy (very spicy) Nicaraguan blend and a clean, modernized design.

HOYO is listed as “Other Country” because, even though it is manufactured in Honduras, there is no Honduran tobaccos listed in the blend—therefore we cannot consider it a Honduran cigar.

Headley Grange Drumstick LE 2013

Crowned Heads Headley Grange Drumstick cigarCrowned Heads’ Headley Grange “Drumstick” was a limited edition version of the brand’s popular cigar made in an authentic, Cuban-style lancero vitola. The cigar debuted in 2013, following up the fan-favorite Four Kicks “Mule Kick” of 2012.

Headley Grange Drumstick LE 2013 is listed as “Other Country” because, even though it is manufactured in the Dominican Republic, there is no Dominican tobaccos listed in the blend—therefore we cannot consider it a Dominican cigar.

Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed

Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed cigarFirst introduced in 2013, Davidoff shocked the cigar world by introducing a Nicaraguan puro to their lineup. Now, Davidoff returns to the rich Nicaraguan soils, amping up the experience for a spicier, “bitter sweet” performance.

Although Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed is manufactured in the Dominican Republic, the blend consists entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Therefore, we still consider this a Nicaraguan cigar.
