April brought some interesting results, showing an evenly dispersed and diverse group of winners. Notable winners included Alec Bradley’s Tempus, claiming the top Honduran spot for the first time; AJ Fernandez Enclave, also with its first victory as top Affordable cigar; and Padrón Family Reserve 50 Years Maduro, which is now only one “Cigar of the Month” win away from becoming our next Hall of Fame cigar (another Padrón, who’d’ve thunk…).

Padrón just barely edged out the Liga Privada No. 9 though, making for the interesting result of two wins apiece (instead of the usual, dominant, four category titles for the top-ranking cigar), with Padrón earning points where it counts most.

Every month, five to twenty cigars are added to the Cigar Wars database in groups of five cigars. Seven days following a group’s debut, we rank each cigar based on its winning percentage after one week in battle. While our established leaderboard uses the Battle Rating score to rank cigars, we use winning percentage to rank Cigars of the Week to avoid the ever-fluctuating battle rankings throughout the week—which we feel are better suited for the day-to-day rankings. Therefore, the weekly rankings won’t be skewed by a single day’s votes when tallying up the scores.

These are the top 12 winning percentages (cigar’s 1st week, debuting in April, 2017) for a single week in battle:
