Padrón claimed the majority of the categories for the month of August, with 1926 Serie No. 90 Natural ranking as the top cigar for the Natural, Expensive, Nicaraguan, and Overall categories. Interesting, as only two months prior, the blend’s Maduro counterpart performed nearly the same feat.

Other notable victories include Drew Estate’s new Undercrown Sun Grown, scoring Cigar Wars’ second highest winning percentage ever for a cigar’s first week in battle! Montecristo No. 2 remained the highest ranked Cuban cigar for the fourth month running, and Fuente Fuente OpusX Belicoso XXX not only remained the highest scoring Dominican cigar for the fourth month in a row, but it has also been the top Dominican cigar a whopping nine weeks in a row!

Every month, five to twenty cigars are added to the Cigar Wars database in groups of five cigars. Seven days following a group’s debut, we rank each cigar based on its winning percentage after one week in battle. While our established leaderboard uses the Battle Rating score to rank cigars, we use winning percentage to rank Cigars of the Week to avoid the ever-fluctuating battle rankings throughout the week—which we feel are better suited for the day-to-day rankings. Therefore, the weekly rankings won’t be skewed by a single day’s votes when tallying up the scores.

These are the top 10 winning percentages (cigar’s 1st week, debuting in August, 2017) for a single week in battle:
