After sitting out 9 months of Cigar Wars battles, Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Maduro has returned to the Cigar Wars battles. The cigar was notably the first addition to the Cigar Wars Hall of Fame, being influential in the creation of the elite category in an attempt to showcase a more diverse selection of cigars in the top rankings.
Since the cigar’s induction in February, 2016, we have refined the Hall of Fame process. Originally, cigars required two “Cigar of the Month” wins within a rolling twelve month period to be admitted; and would be removed from battle for twelve months before returning. Cigars must now win three times within twelve months and are removed from battle for a reduced three months.
For this reason, Padrón 1964 returns to the battle before its original February, 2017 date. And Fuente Fuente OpusX, the second HOF cigar, will return the month following.
