Our six contenders this week need no fluff or frill, they’re the salt of the earth, the everyday smokes that have sufficiently kept the “Joe 6-pack” smoker good and satisfied over the past five years.

Not every cigar in this group carries that kind of age or price point though—Cohiba Macassar is a 2016 release that tops the brand’s luxury price point, and Time Flies is another 2016 release, though it’s much more affordable than its Cohiba cousin. Then there’s the Rocky Fifteenth, which near-any smoker has tried at least a few times, though the price still surprises us each time we’re reminded it ranges up into the mid teens.

All told, the group as a whole carries a median price of $7.75, making for an overall “affordable” collection that most smokers will be familiar with.

With these additions, there are now over 53,000 battle combinations!
