Matilde Cigars hit the cigar scene with instantaneous fervor in 2013, thanks to a lengthy track record for the brand’s founder, Jose Seijas. Jose is best known for his work at the renowned Tabacalera de Garcia factory, producing famed blends such as Montecristo and H. Upmann. He is now joined by his sons Enrique and Ricardo for Matilde.

In 2014, Matilde released their first cigar, dubbed Renacer. This was followed-up with the award-winning Oscura blend in 2015. And one year later, Matilde continues their steady progression with Quadrata. The cigar is their first box-pressed offering and is said to be medium/full-bodied, landing right between the medium profile of Renacer and the fuller side of Oscura. The cigars are also the first offering by Matilde after moving from their own factory to the larger scale operations at Tabacalera Palma.
