Since the brand’s introduction in 2014, Caldwell has held close ties with the famed Ventura family, with Tabacalera William Ventura producing nearly every Caldwell cigar in their lineup.
Introduced at the 2016 IPCPR show, Caldwell adds a third blend to the growing collection of Eastern Standard cigars, falling under the brand’s Caldwell Collection. Dos Firmas is Spanish for “two firms” or “two signatures”, and the cigar is thus referred to as the “Caldwell Signature”. This is because Caldwell was given this special blend by William Ventura, a personal blend he’d crafted over twenty years prior.
To distinguish this special blend, the Eastern Standard band is accompanied by both William Ventura and Robert Caldwell’s signatures, shown as an added sub-band. The two signatures are also displayed on the box. Among the cigar’s specially crafted sizes are two classic, Cuban vitlas such as a 5⅛ x 50 Piramide and a 6 x 30 Culebra.
