Buenaventura

Buenaventura is quite the curious cigar blend. The cigar is produced by Curivari Cigars International—a fairly new brand, at least to the American market. But the cigars (and the brand in general) got the boost they needed when CA ranked Buenaventura as their #7 cigar for 2013, just one year after the cigar was introduced at the 2012 IPCPR show.

Curivari stays true to cigar blending traditions, using only puro blends (Nicaraguan); with their packaging resembling a classic Cuban look and feel. This is an interesting blend, as Curivari introduced it as "limited edition", and in fact doesn't even list Buenaventura on their own website as part of their collection—though the cigars continue to be rolled. Perhaps the biggest selling point of Buenaventura is its value factor—being well-known as one of the best "bang for your buck" cigars (at least in craft circles) on the market.
