The Prometheus brand is originally known for its high-end cigar accessories, but in 2004 they gained attention for their premium cigar release—God of Fire. These GOF cigars were made by the Fuentes and consisted of a blend by Carlito (a Cameroon-wrapped cigar) and a blend by Carlos (an Ecuadoran Sumatra-wrapped cigar). A later release (GOF Serie B) offered four more cigars—two using an Ecuadorian Sun-Grown wrapper and two using Connecticut Broadleaf.
In 2015, Prometheus unveiled their long-awaited 10th anniversary blend. The cigars were announced as far back as 2012, but delay after delay forced the blend into 2014, 10 years after their first cigar—this was again delayed to 2015 but Prometheus kept the anniversary concept.
God of Fire Serie Aniversario consists of three figurado-shaped vitolas. The cigars use a dark Ecuadorian wrapper over Dominican fillers—similar to the original blend by Carlos Fuente, only tweaked with a more premium selection of tobaccos.
