Illusione's lineup can sometimes prove to be tricky to navigate. Sure, everyone easily understands the Epernay or Fume D'Amour—they're a particular blend with varying sizes—you know, your standard lineup. But the "Original Documents" is a little different, because each cigar is banded with its respective size, e.g. ~88~, ~cg:4~, or ~mj 12~; it can give the impression these are all different cigars. Add to the equation the maduro variants (red and black bands), and you have yourself a confusing situation in the humidor!
Here's what you need to know—they're all the same blend, simply having different sizes and wrappers. The original "Original Documents" cigars are indeed Illusione's original, core-line cigars. They are often wrapped in silver foil paper and feature the black and white bands.
The breakthrough blend in balance, body and construction. All Illusione ‘Original Documents’ rated 90 and above in Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider – unprecedented in the industry and culminating into a #7 world ranking in CA’s Top 25 cigars for 2007. Illusione approaches the palate with notes of leather, black cherry, earth and finishes with its signature olfactory floral sweetness. Illusione is still to this day, the only true small batch cigar in production.
