Caldwell’s affordable offerings once consisted of a line called Junior Varsity, which was later renamed Iberian Express. Both lines (consisting of three cigar blends) were phased out in favor of Caldwell’s Blind Man’s Bluff, debuting in 2015.
With Blind Man’s Bluff, Caldwell departed from his usual manufacturing partner in the Dominican Republic, instead teaming with Camacho’s Agroindustrias Laepe S.A. factory in Honduras. For company owner Robert Caldwell, this was actually somewhat of a return to his roots, as his first venture—Wynwood Cigars—was made in Honduras by the Eiroa family—the former owners of Camacho.
Blind Man’s Bluff features the same unorthodox and artistic stylings that Caldwell Cigar Co. became known for with their more premium offerings (Eastern Standard, Long Live The King), only this cigar is aimed at a more affordable price point.
