Six years after the original Undercrown cigar made its way to the public, the series has been expanded to include all three of the major profile styles (natural, maduro, Connecticut shade), with Drew Estate launching Undercrown Sun Grown. As with the cigars before it, Undercrown Sun Grown is touted as being blended by the original “factory floor” blending team (consisting of Drew Estate factory workers that sought to create their own blend after being told they were smoking too many Liga Privadas), as well as the guidance of Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera.
Undercrown Sun Grown showcases familiar tobaccos from Drew Estate’s premium cigars, such as an all-Nicaraguan interior and the leaf used on the famed Liga Privada T52 wrapper (used as a binder on UC Sun Grown). What sets the cigar apart is a much-welcomed kick of strength and sweetness from a special ligero leaf of Nicaragua’s Nueva Segovia region (in the filler), as well as the cigar’s Ecuadorian Sumatra Sun Grown wrapper—giving the blend a taste unlike anything else in Drew Estate’s ever-growing lineup.
